It
might have been the beginning of Daylight Savings Time 2008, but for one
day San Francisco transformed back into its old Susan B. Anthony dollar-holding,
no-grape-eating, 1978 Village People self. It was all for the filming
of Milk,
the upcoming Harvey
Milk biopic directed by Gus Van
Sant, in which the paparazzi responsible for this very web page makes
his motion picture debut in the role of "Disco Fag #86". Good
thing Sean Penn didn't know I was a paparazzi. Nearly a thousand San
Franciscans showed up just to stand in the backgound of this movie. City
Hall was fully 70's-ed out with vintage cars and anti-Anita
Bryant propaganda... there were even throwback retro stop signs for
the people on ludes who should not drive. Tide yourself over until the
November 2008 release of Milk
with these dyno-mite, outta sight pictures of a distinguished cast of
unpaid extras... and remember, no openly gay politicians were harmed in
the making of this film!
